Since the very beginning, REPL has been involved in the smart city mission of Government of India.  GOI created a panel of consultants, based on their credentials and past work. They also ranked these empanelled consultants, and we were at the top of that list.

In phase one we were involved in developing the concept plan for two cities- Bhopal (M.P.) and Dehradun (Uttrakhand). We assisted the municipal corporations in bidding with the government for getting selected in the list under Smart City challenge. The plan for Bhopal Smart City was selected among the top 20 in the first list.

Currently under second phase of implementations, we are working on detailed plan of Varanasi (U.P.), Indore (M.P.), Kanpur (U.P.), Dehradun (Uttrakhand), Moradabad (U.P.), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Jabalpur (M.P.), Vellore (Tamil Nadu) and Madurai (Tamil Nadu) Smart Cities.

The vision of Varanasi Smart City is “to rejuvenate the oldest living Indian city of Varanasi as a great place to live and visit by conserving and showcasing its enriched heritage, culture, spirituality and traditions through innovative social and financial inclusion solutions”.

REPL with it consortium partners is working as project management development consultants for Varanasi Smart City. The approach of Area Based Development (ABD) and pan city solutions is being undertaken. This includes retrofitting of old city along river Ganga comprising of major temples, heritage sites & cultural places with emphasis on socio-economic growth.

In the Varanasi Smart City, approach of Area Based Development (ABD) has been taken, along with the pan city solutions. The plan, spreading over total 1389 acres, includes retrofitting of old city along river Ganga comprising of major temples, heritage sites & cultural places with emphasis on socio-economic growth. Massive citizen engagement program was undertaken to determine the priority areas. Consultants prepare detailed project reports (DPR) on various components such as water supply & sewerage systems, intelligent traffic management, smart security system, heritage conservation, tourism promotion activities etc.

REPL consortium is assisting the Varanasi Smart City Ltd. in various phases of project implementation, which includes the activities such as, preparation of DPR, coordination with various appointed consultants, project prioritization & phasing, preparing capital investment plan, implementation roadmap, conducting feasibility study, bid process management for selection of implementing agencies, overall project management etc.

Smart city vision for Indore: “An ideal world class smart commercial metropolis that thrives on investment opportunities, incubating business and ideas, rich inheritance and inclusive development”

The Indore Area Based Development (ABD) spreads across a contiguous land parcel, comprising of a total area of 742 acres, having a population of 1.2 Lakhs. The earmarked area is under retrofitting with smart features / infrastructure wherein out of total proposed area, 164 acres of land is under redevelopment.

The Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISCDL) has appointed REPL consortium to provide consultancy services for preparation of Area Based Development Master Plan / detailed layout plan for earmarked area, preparation of detailed project reports (DPR) for various packages and project management consultancy (PMC) support.

REPL is assisting the ‘Authority’ in various phases of project implementation, which includes the activities such as, preparation of DPR along with cost estimates, coordination with various appointed consultants, project prioritization & phasing, preparing capital investment plan, business plan and implementation roadmap, conducting feasibility study, bid process management for selection of implementing agencies, overall project management etc.

The intelligent regeneration of Indore (Rajwada area) includes conservation of the historic inner city, market areas, riverfront and public spaces with the redevelopment of selected land parcels for creating compact, mixed-use and sustainable neighbourhoods.

The plan has multiple components to address different aspects of Smart City components. It includes, built heritage conservation, incubation centers & skill development centers, improvement of roads & pathways, pedestrian zones, public open spaces, smart water & sanitation management, solid waste management, underground shifting of utilities, energy efficient street lighting, advance safety & security systems etc.

The project combines characteristics of retrofitting as well as redevelopment. ISCDL has also received funds from Government of India and Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) for the development of Indore as smart city.

Smart City vision for Kanpur – “To transform into an inclusive vibrant city of opportunities with efficient urban services, sustainable growth and healthy living keeping, Ganga, Industries and Commerce into focus.”

Rudrabhishek Enterprise Ltd. (REPL) is working as Project Management Consultant to develop and implement the Kanpur Smart City project.

The core 1475 acres of ABD area and Pan City Projects identified to develop under the smart city where REPL is assisting KSCL in designing, developing, implementing, managing and supervising the smart city projects.

The retrofitting development not only improve the core infrastructure and quality of life but also assure a sustainable and inclusive development with the integration of smart ICT solutions. It includes cleanliness of river Ganga and several city infrastructure projects with more emphasis on socio-economic growth of the city and citizens. Along with the modernization of Industrial areas, a massive citizen engagement program was also undertaken to determine the priority. Vision for Smart City Dehradun -“Establishing Dehradun as ecofriendly knowledge hub of the region, infusing technology for providing timely & accurate information to citizens and authorities for decision making and improving the ease of doing business for promoting tourism in the region”.

Dehradun’s area-based development (ABD) envisions to retrofit and redevelop 875 Acres centered on CBD of Dehradun and transform into a light-house for the city and to showcase as a smart neighborhood.

REPL is working with Dehradun Smart City Ltd (DSCL) in various phases of project implementation which includes activities such as preparation of DPR, coordination with various appointed consultants, project prioritization & phasing, preparing capital investment plan, implementation roadmap, conducting feasibility study, bid process management for selection of implementing agencies, and overall project management.

The ABD focuses on areas such as rejuvenation of cluttered market spaces in city core; through compact mixed-use built forms and pedestrianization of market looped with parking facilities for enhanced walkability; Recreation of urban green; sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport, intelligent traffic & parking management, transport planning interventions and MLCPs for better urban mobility. Core infrastructure are strengthened and heritage structures are restored as per colonial architecture. The project also entails all the other essential components of a smart city, including smart security; solid waste management; vibrant infotainment hub etc.

Smart City Vision for Moradabad  – Transform “Peetal Nagri” into a sustainable growth center and livable city.

REPL is working as Project Management Consultant to develop and implement Moradabad Smart City project.

The core 1260 acres of ABD area and Pan City Projects identified to be developed under the smart city. REPL is supporting MSCL in overall management of Smart City project, including project planning, budgeting, supervising, managing, monitoring & evaluating, reporting and coordination to ensure timely project development and implementation in line with Smart City Proposal and Smart Cities Mission. This would include end-to-end consultancy support for planning and implementing smart city projects.

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) plans to retrofit and redevelop 270 acres of the area strategically located along NH 415 in the city. Itanagar aspires to be the most livable & economically vibrant city in the North East. The Smart city mission envisages promoting high quality of living & happiness to its citizen & visitors by providing modern infrastructure, smart governance & sustainable development.

REPL is working with Itanagar Smart City Development Corporation (ISCDCL) in the overall management of the Smart City project, including project planning, budgeting, supervising, managing, monitoring & evaluating, reporting, and coordination to ensure timely project development and implementation along with Bid Process Management.

REPL also assists ISCDCL in preparation of retrofit-redevelopment Area Based Development (ABD) master plan for the earmarked area & Pan City solution, preparation of detailed project reports for various packages, and project designing, developing, planning, management, implementation, and supervision consultancy.

The ABD focuses on areas such as reviewing the existing status of physical Infrastructure and other available secondary data; Identifying requirements and carrying out necessary surveys, investigations, situational analysis, cost-benefit analysis, preparing preliminary project cost estimates. Reviewing the available GIS maps and integrating to the possible extent to develop area wise spatial mapping on assets & preparing of situation analysis report.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) is of extreme importance in the context of being an administrative, industrial and business centre of the state. Smart City project envisions of creating dense, compact, mixed-use parcels with vibrant streets and safe public spaces for enhanced social interactions. The aim is to improve quality of life to citizens, develop supporting infrastructure for sustainable development, and facilitate smart governance.

REPL supports Jabalpur Smart City in the overall management of the Smart City project, including project planning, budgeting, supervising, managing, monitoring & evaluating, reporting and coordination to ensure timely project development and implementation along with Bid Process Management.

Jabalpur’s Area Based Development relies on a financially robust and sustainable, retrofit cum Redevelopment ‘Hub and Spoke’ model in Wright and Napier Town (743 Acres). It smartly interlinks existing strategic urban spaces to regenerate its Central Business District (CBD) and create plug-and-play infrastructure. It focuses on creating dense, compact, mixed-use parcels with vibrant streets and safe public spaces for enhanced social interactions. The transformation attempts to unlock a new growth axis and series of cultural (Gol Bazar, Bhanvartal), economic (Civic Center) and environmental hubs (Ranital lake) to serve as community destinations for the entire city. The area’s existing British town planning is invigorated with a layer of improved infrastructure (roads, signages, lighting, smart metering for water services and RFIDs for waste collection points). The It also incorporates smart city projects such Smart Roads and non-motorized transport corridor (NMT).

Vellore City has adopted the strategy for development under Smart City Mission. REPL consortium is appointed as Project Management Consultant for Vellore Smart City (Phase II, Package 2) to provide consultancy services for management, implementation and supervision of smart city projects.

The objective is to reconstruct the urban form with smart roads and seamless mobility. We are conducting feasibility & viability analysis that includes technical, financial and operation modelling. Consortium also prepares month-wise plans, check compliances and approval requirements from different activities.

Madurai Smart City Limited (MSCL) is developing lakes restoration & rejuvenation cum Green NMT (Non-Motorised Traffic) Corridor project in Madurai. In connection with the development of this project, MSCL has engaged REPL as project management consultant.

REPL assisting MSCL for monitoring and supervising underground sewerage scheme (North of Vaigai River phase – II package I, II, and III). We are reviewing existing designs, drawings and execution plan; conducting tests and quality checks; monitor construction method & quality control; assisting parties in dispute resolution; and monitoring & coordination to ensure timely project implementation etc.
