Transportation is key component is the infrastructure development plan of Government of India. PM Gati Shakti Yojana incorporates various infrastructure schemes like bharatmala, sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports, UDAN etc. There is an ambitious mission of creating multi-nodal connectivity to provide integrated and seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services.

There is plan of huge expansion in the area of aviation. The central government has plans of 50 new airports, helipads and aerodromes to boost connectivity. Similarly, in ‘Seaport’ section, Ministry has drawn up a list of 400 projects with the investment potential of Rs. 2.25 trillion. Furthermore, 1000 Kms of major tunnels are to be designed and constructed by the states. Within urban transportation, providing mono-rails will be crucial in mitigating problems of urban mobility, along with the RRTS as means of fast transportation of commuters from urban to sub-urban areas. The Amrit Bharat Station scheme has been launched by GOI with the plan of modernizing 1275 identified railway station. All these are high-potential growth sectors in coming years.
